About Me
„Mountains are silent masters and make silent students“
(J.W.Goethe)
My enjoyment of photography arose during a trip to Down Under. Inspired by the vastness and the colours of this unique country, I began to work more intensively on the subject of landscape photography. The fascination of nature photography is a valuable part of my life, motivating me again and again to go on expeditions to discover atmospheric landscape motifs..
Individual photographs became wall calendars with selected motifs, which always led to sell-out editions. From the motifs initially created in single format, interest grew in the possibility of capturing larger areas of landscapes. Through panoramic photography, it was possible to capture moods that could not nearly unfold the effect with a single image. Customer interest in panoramic formats grew, so that the focus of my photography gradually shifted to them.
On tours in the Alps, I always experience the beauty of the mountains anew and enjoy the wonderfully calm, sometimes stormy hours in the mountains or at the foot of the mountains in the valleys. Expressing the emotion experienced in a picture always inspires me to capture the experiences of nature, which of course does not happen as often as one would like..
Some of the spots in the mountains are not easy to reach. Food and photo equipment often add up to a considerable weight that has to be shouldered. Depending on the tour, ascents of several hours and many metres in altitude have to be mastered with 24-28 kg of equipment, which sometimes takes you to your limits.
And as usual in landscape photography, the carefully planned photo is not always safe. Nature always has the last word. At the sight of a sunrise or sunset, however, all the exertions you have taken on are soon gone. The nights are often uncomfortable and short, but the play of light and the magical colours of nature on many a day cannot be described in words and are simply breathtakingly beautiful. Full of joy and great gratitude, I enjoy being able to experience these moments.
Even if I don’t succeed in taking a good photo on the way, I am always full of peace on the way home and already look forward to the next tour. To be able to experience nature in all its beauty in every free minute is a source of energy and joy for me.
I hope all visitors enjoy looking at my photographs.
